摘要: This paper aims at developing a structural health monitoring (SHM)-based bridge rating method for bridge inspection of long-span cable-supported bridges. The fuzzy based analytic hierarchy approach is employed, and the hierarchical structure for synthetic rating of each structural component of the bridge is proposed. The criticality and vulnerability analyses are performed largely based on the field measurement data from the SHM system installed in the bridge to offer relatively accurate condition evaluation of the bridge and to reduce uncertainties involved in the existing rating method. The procedures for determining relative weighs and fuzzy synthetic ratings for both criticality and vulnerability are then suggested. The fuzzy synthetic decisions for inspection are made in consideration of the synthetic ratings of all structural components. The SHM-based bridge rating method is finally applied to the Tsing Ma suspension bridge in Hong Kong as a case study. The results show that the proposed method is feasible and it can be used in practice for long-span cable-supported bridges with SHM system.

Method for rating energy performance of public buildings

摘要: This paper discussed a comparative study of several state-of-art methods for determining building energy consumption benchmark. A new approach, which combined the idea of “building benchmark” and “operational benchmark” in its rating system, was proposed. A case study was conducted which applied the proposed approach to benchmarking an existing office building in Tianjin. Besides, the calculation of benchmarks of the reference building model and real building model using the rating method in eQUEST was also considered. Furthermore, the simulation results of the reference building model were taken as the baseline to divide real office buildings into different energy performance grades.

The defect-length effect in corrosion detection with magnetic method for bridge cables

Quantitative evaluation of the steel corrosion in cables is significant for the safe operation of cable-supported bridges. The magnetic flux (MF) examination shows great potential to detect the corrosion defect, or loss of metallic cross-sectional area (LMA). An LMA defect in steel cables can be measured accurately when it is longer than a certain length. However, for defects in early stage, where the length of corrosion area is short, the MF examination may produce unacceptable error. In this study, the effect of defect length on the MF examination for corrosion detection of bridge cables is investigated through theoretical analysis and model experiments. An original analytical model to quantify the influence of defect length is proposed based on the equivalent magnetic circuit method. Then, MF examination experiments are performed on a series of cable models with different defect lengths and locations to verify the analytical model. Further, parameter study is conducted based on the proposed analytical model to clarify the mechanism of the defect-length effect. The results show that the area loss caused by short corrosion damage will be underestimated if the defect-length effect is neglected, and this effect can be quantified efficiently with the proposed analytical model.

Calculation method on shape finding of self-anchored suspension bridge with spatial cables

摘要: Based on the spatial model, a reliable and accurate calculation method on the shape finding of self-anchored suspension bridge with spatial cables was studied in this paper. On the principle that the shape of the main cables between hangers is catenary, the iteration method of calculating the shapes of the spatial main cables under the load of hanger forces was deduced. The reasonable position of the saddle was determined according to the shape and the theoretical joint point of the main cables. The shapes of the main cables at completed cable stage were calculated based on the unchanging principle of the zero-stress lengths of the main cables. By using a numerical method combining with the finite element method, one self-anchored suspension bridge with spatial cables was analyzed. The zero-stress length of the main cables, the position of the saddle, and the pre-offsetting of the saddle of the self-anchored suspension bridge were given. The reasonable shapes of the main cables at bridge completion stage and completed cable stage were presented. The results show that the shape-finding calculation method is effective and reliable.

Ribbon bridge in waves based on hydroelasticity theory

摘要: For the design and operation of a floating bridge, the understanding of its hydroelastic behavior in waves is of great importance. This paper investigated the hydroelastic performances of a ribbon bridge under wave action. A brief introduction on the estimation of dynamic responses of the floating bridge and the comparisons between the experiments and estimation were presented. Based on the 3D hydroelasticity theory, the hydroelastic behavior of the ribbon bridge modeled by finite element method (FEM) was analyzed by employing the mode superposition method. And the relevant comparisons between the numerical results and experimental data obtained from one tenth scale elastic model test in the ocean basin were made. It is found that the present method is applicable and adaptable for predicting the hydroelastic response of the floating bridge in waves.

鄂东大桥混合梁斜拉桥合龙技术

结合世界第二混合梁斜拉桥——主跨926 m的鄂东大桥,研究了大跨径混合梁斜拉桥中跨合龙方案的影响因素及关键技术,确定采用加载合龙方案。加载合龙方法具有较好的温度适应性,对成桥结构线形和受力影响很小,满足无应力施工控制方法的要求,适用于大跨径混合梁斜拉桥。研究成果及实践经验对同类型桥梁具有借鉴指导意义。

Time-domain and frequency-domain approaches to identification of bridge flutter derivatives

摘要: Flutter derivatives are essential for flutter analysis of long-span bridges, and they are generally identified from the vibration testing data of a sectional model suspended in a wind tunnel. Making use of the forced vibration testing data of three sectional models, namely, a thin-plate model, a nearly streamlined model, and a bluff-body model, a comparative study was made to identify the flutter derivatives of each model by using a time-domain method and a frequency-domain method. It was shown that all the flutter derivatives of the thin-plate model identified with the frequency-domain method and time-domain method, respectively, agree very well. Moreover, some of the flutter derivatives of each of the other two models identified with the two methods deviate to some extent. More precisely, the frequency-domain method usually results in smooth curves of the flutter derivatives. The formulation of time-domain method makes the identification results of flutter derivatives relatively sensitive to the signal phase lag between vibration state vector and aerodynamic forces and also prone to be disturbed by noise and nonlinearity.

基础模拟方式对泰州大桥地震响应的影响

摘要:

建立了3种基础-土相互作用模拟方式,分别为考虑一定桩身柔性的固结独塔模型,基于“m”法的线性独塔模型,以及采用“p-y”曲线法的非线性独塔模型。采用El-Centro和Kobe两种地震波分别对3个模型进行计算分析,结果发现,基于“m”法的线性独塔沉井模型与“p-y”曲线法的非线性独塔沉井模型相比响应偏大,而基于“m”法的线性独塔群桩基础模型则与“p-y”曲线法的非线性独塔群桩基础模型有较好的吻合。

摘要:

路面需要养护,以防止其过度损坏,或使其恢复性能,然而在许多情况下,路面养护的重要性并没有得到足够的重视,它经常会被忽视或被作为低优先级处理。目前大多数的养护活动都存在预算问题,且只专注于清理损坏的路段。延期的路面养护会对环境和社会产生影响,因此可能会影响与养护相关的成本。可持续性评级工具是列举、解释和评估此类影响的好方法。目前已经为路面设计了多种评级工具,但是,路面养护与新建、扩建、改造路面等工程相比有不同的特点。本研究回顾了9 种路面可持续性评级工具,但这些工具没有一个可以完全描述养护特征,或者可以直接用于评估养护项目。因而,一个新型的用于路面养护的可持续性评级工具开始发展,这个新的工具可以用来评估单独的养护项目,并且可以提高公众对于路面养护重要性的认识。本文对其细节进行了描述,并通过示例展示了其评估过程和结果。

A method for examining the seismic performance of steel arch deck bridges

摘要: To examine the seismic resistance performance of a steel arch bridge during a strong earthquake, an approach is proposed in this paper to determine the ultimate strain of an arch rib using the static elasto-plastic large deformation theory. A steel fixed-end deck arch bridge with a span length of 200 m was used as an example in this study. The ultimate strain of the arch rib was calculated using the elasto-plastic finite element model. The seismic responses of the arch bridge exposed to strong earthquakes in two and three directions were also simulated. Moreover, the effect of earthquake motion in the lateral direction on the elasto-plastic earthquake response was discussed, and the seismic resistance of the structure was analyzed. The results show that steel arch bridges have preferable seismic resistance under strong earthquake conditions. While lateral earthquake motion has some influence on the damage to an arch bridge, it has little effect on the displacement, axial force, and bending moment responses of the arch rib. It is feasible to examine the seismic performance of the arch bridge by ascertaining the out-of-plane and in-plane earthquake responses of the bridge.

Trial design of arch bridge of composite box section with steel web-concrete flange

摘要: The concrete arch bridge is a natural and appropriate structural solution, aesthetically pleasing and easily integrated into the environment, especially in mountainous and island areas. However, construction difficulty and cost will increase with heavy self-weight when the span enlarges. A potential solution is to use a composite box arch ring with steel web-concrete flange. Taking Wanzhou Yangtze River Bridge (the longest concrete arch bridge in the world with a main span of 420 m) as a prototype, trial designs of a composite box arch with steel webs (including corrugated steel webs and plain steel webs) and concrete flanges were carried out. Comparison of quantities and structural behaviors of the prototype concrete arch with the two trial designed composite arch was presented. It is shown that the self-weight of the composite arch can reduce about 28% and the structures can meet the design requirements, therefore it is possible to use the two composite arches in long span arch bridges.

Influence mechanism of dynamic and static liquid bridge forces on particle deposition behaviors in solar

摘要: Solar energy is one of the most promising forms of renewable energy for solving the energy crisis and environmental problems. Dust deposition on photovoltaic mirrors has a serious negative impact on the photoelectric conversion efficiency of solar power stations. In this paper, the influence mechanism of the dynamic and static liquid bridge forces on particle deposition behaviors on solar photovoltaic mirrors is investigated. In addition, the expression and physical meaning of the particle critical separation velocity are proposed. The research results show that the static liquid bridge force can be the primary deposition force causing dust particles to adhere to photovoltaic mirrors. However, the dynamic liquid bridge force can act as a resistance force for the particle motion process and even make dust particles roll along and finally stay on the mirror. The contact force is the primary separation force that causes dust particles to flow away from the mirror. Whether dust particles adhere to the mirror depends on the relative size of the deposition and separating forces. The particle critical separation velocity describes the relative size of the collision-rebound effect and mirror adhesion effect and is expressed in Eq. (16). These research findings can provide theoretical guidance for mirror cleaning methods in the operation process of photovoltaic mirrors.

Evaluation of the static and dynamic structural performance of segmental pre-stressed concrete box girder bridge

摘要: The objectives of this study are to explain the repairing and strengthening methods which are used to improve the structural performance of the bridge structure, to analyze the static and dynamic responses after strengthening, and to evaluate the performance of the bridge structure after repairing and strengthening. The methods of repairing and strengthening include reconstruction the deck of the bridge by casting 10 cm layer of concrete, strengthening the web and bottom floor of box girders of middle spans and side spans by sticking the steel plates, strengthening the whole bridge structure by using external pre-stressing tendons, and treatment the cracks. The results of theoretical analysis show that the values of tensile stress and vertical deflection are decreased and the compressive stress is increased after strengthening. There are not tensile stresses are appeared in the sections of the bridge structure. The modal analysis results show that the value of natural frequency is equal to 2.09 Hz which is more than the values before strengthening which is equal to 1.64 Hz, indicating that the stiffness of the bridge structure is improved and the strengthening process is effective to improve the cracks resistance and bearing capacity of the bridge structure.

基于ANSYS的悬索桥分析方法研究

摘要:

用于悬索桥分析的专用程序和通用程序均有其局限性。基于ANSYS平台进行二次开发,主要着眼于鞍座的模拟、顶推的实现、主缆和吊索的无应力长度确定、无应力长度保持不变的方法,并给出润扬大桥算例予以验证,使得用ANSYS分析悬索桥具有了专用程序的精度和通用程序前后处理方便的特性。

泰州大桥钢中塔线形控制误差调整方法

摘要:

泰州大桥钢中塔首次采用纵向“人”字形、横向门式框架结构,采用节段预制-现场安装的方法安装钢塔。建立针对复杂钢塔的全过程施工控制体系,在制造阶段对节段形态以及制造线形进行精确测控的基础上,在安装阶段根据实际安装误差情况确定预先设置调节缝的调整量,达到对钢塔线形误差调整的目的。现场实施结果表明,泰州大桥中间钢塔的线形控制效果良好,最终线形各项精度均优于设计要求。
